I honestly don't know why Ashton Kutcher is so popular. Now he's going to play Steve Jobs in a film. Really? Because when I look at him, I rarely think of anything other than that he's an overgrown goof with no depth whatsoever. I just don't see the appeal.

So my daughter, whom I love dearly, was telling me about this couple who sued a hospital, because they ended up having a Downs baby and the hospital flubbed the test you can take. We were commenting on what the child might think later on about his/her parents doing such a thing. Then I said that I could see how some people would be upset, since temperamentally you just might not be capable of raising such a child. It depends on the person, I said. And my daughter, the Republican and Christian who never equivocates, said that anyone could raise such a child. Anyone, because, of course, God would give them the strength. I had to disagree, but nothing would change my daughter's mind.

The black-and-white issues can make me crazy, especially since I see the world in many different colors!

Have to say I thought there was something strange about this man when he was explaining the purpose of his film to his five-year-old son. How do you explain rape to a kid that age?

In honor of Kathy Bates, I've renamed my other journal where I don't keep my fanfic. It used to be besames_musings, but now it's crankyoldbroad. It's in honor of Kathy or, rather, the character she plays on "Harry's Law," who called herself "dark." That's what I am aiming for here: something entirely different than my fanfic journal, somewhere I can freely bitch and complain, where I can be the other parts of me. Which, believe it or not, are dark.

I have defriended some people, most of whom I no longer have any contact with. If you think that was a mistake, let me know. And if you want to defriend me, be my guest. :)

This, btw, was prompted by the success I've had on Twitter moaning and groaning and not being my nice self. I thought it'd be fun.
